I post this opening discussion dedicated to Aziz and Capman,
Fist thinking I want to post Scandinavian B01, but I remember my friend, Aziz asking me for this variation. So…
Ahhh, Here we go…
Caro-Kann play by Grand Master regularly compare to the French. 1.e4 e5>1.e4 c5>1.e4 c6>1.e4 e6. Its play by Vishy and Peter Leko with a good result. So it good choice opening. I going to discuss for white preparation only. If u play at Penang or KL more people you can find who use this opening as their pet. Im not going to tell you who play this line, u can see by yourself.
Im not going to explain detail variation but straight away to select variation.
[White "Caro-Kann"] 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5
The opening can turn to 3.exd5 exchange variation or 3.e5 to advance variation. I suggest for white to play 3.Nc3 for the popular choice. Actually the exchange variation 3.exd5 give better opportunity to black to equalize the opening.
[Site "B19"] [White "Caro-Kann"] [Black "Classical, Spassky Variation "] 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4. Nxe4 Bf5 5. Ng3 Bg6 6. h4 h6 7. Nf3 Nd7 8. h5

With 3.Nc3 variation can turn to this variation. Just follow, its play million times by grand master. After you understand the opening move, u must study the trap, and this opening purpose. Actually this opening lead to end game. So, u must strong ending player!.
Continue, 8…Bh7 9. Bd3 Bxd3 10. Qxd3…

| Plan(W) | Catsle on Queenside and attack the center |
| Attacking | Queen must play main role for attacking and control centre |
| Ending | If leave Queen on board make ending more complicated. |
|
|
|
| Plan(B) | Castle on Queen side attack the centre |
| Attacking | Rooks develop at right place to lunch attack |
| Ending | Usually Queen exchange leave Knight or Bishop to ease ending |
|
10.Qxd3 Ngf6 | 0.09 |
| 10.Qxd3 Qc7 | 0.16 |
| 10.Qxd3 e6 | 0.09 |
This the fraction of the variation, but still on book opening not novelty yet.
U can start analysis by ur own to make ur own novelty. Luckily we at Malaysia, if u know till 12th move consider good player. But not include who have rating 1650 upper.
